Spectrum Striders RC have agreed to form an association with Brainwave. Brainwave works with families to deliver individual home based therapy and exercise programmes that help children with disabilities and developmental delay to achieve their potential.
This association will initially last for 12 months but will be reviewed annually (typically in Sept/Oct prior to our Club AGM and after the Birchwood 10k) to ensure both parties are happy with the arrangement.
Brainwave have charity places available for some races in 2011. All the entrant needs to do is generate £250 sponsorship for a Marathon or £150 for a Half Marathon. If you are interested, please can you contact Joanne Freeman at Brainwave as shown below. Also, can you please let Steve Pickford or Julian Spencer know? We want to know if this is the sort of running deal/event which you are keen for us to find or do you prefer to find your own personal charity choice?

Brainwave was established in 1982 in Bridgwater, Somerset and in 2009 it opened its third Centre in Birchwood, Warrington which has provided much easier access for families from Cheshire and surrounding areas. The new Centre boasts two therapy rooms, a family room with a kitchen and a state of the art sensory room with an interactive floor.
Brainwave works with families to deliver individual home-based therapy and exercise programmes that help children with disabilities and developmental delay to achieve their potential. This can be anything from walking to recognising numbers. Brainwave looks after a whole range of children with conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome and Autism.
If you can help Brainwave in any way, either as a business wanting to adopt us as your Charity Of The Year or as an individual interested in doing a sponsored walk, 10k run or parachute jump, or would simply some like further information and an opportunity to visit the Warrington Centre, then contact Joanne Freeman, Community Manager on 07872 411580
Places on the programme for children are available at the North West Centre at time of writing. For more information:
