Yearly membership

 Individual = £15.00
 Family = £22.00

If you run in more than 2 open races in a year, it is cheaper overall to pay for a UKA "Racing License" as this enables you to enter races at a reduced rate.

The UKA Racing License fee is £5.00 (per person who races) per year and needs to be added to the Club membership fee.

How to join

Our membership numbers are higher now than they have ever been.  Almost half of the members are ladies and we have a wide range of standards.  We do not specifically cater for juniors, but are happy to include Juniors over 14 years old in our training if they have parental permission.

If you are thinking of joining us we'll be pleased to see you.  We normally suggest that you come along and chat or run with us first for a few weeks, so that you can decide whether the club is right for you.  For details of Club nights, see our Training with us page.  Alternatively, you can contact one of the committee members - phone numbers and e-mail addresses are on our Committee web page.

There is more background information on the Club for you to look at if you wish.  This is on our Membership Information sheet - please click here to download it (in PDF format).

If you would like to join us, perhaps having already run with us to find out a little about what we do, you can print off a membership form to complete and return to us. Existing members can also use this form to renew their membership. The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st MarchClick here to download the membership form (in PDF format).

You can pay by cheque or cash.  Existing members can also pay by bank transfer.  See the membership form for details.

Membership fee structure

Please note that our membership fee structure was changed in 2008/9.  Previously our membership fee included both the club and UK Athletics (UKA) fees but the UKA fee structure has now changed.  To reflect this change, it was decided at the AGM in November 2007 that the membership form would show the UKA Racing License fee as a separate item.

If you only want to run in internal club events or train with us you do not need a UKA Racing License.  Note that, if you have a family membership, you need to pay one UKA Racing License fee for each person aged over 11 who wants to race.

This UKA Racing License fee needs to be added to your club subscription when you are working out what your total subscription fee is.  Examples (using 2009/10 fees):

  • Individual membership = £15.00 [club] + £5.00 [UKA] giving a total of £20.00
  • Family of 4 membership = £22.00 [club] + 4 x £5.00 [UKA] giving a total of £42.00

Obviously if you have no intention of competing then you can leave off the UKA Racing License fee.

Have a look on the membership form and if you have any more questions, please ask a committee member.
