The 2010 dinner was held on Saturday 2nd January 2010 at Paddington House Hotel in Warrington. We have left these details on the web site so that you can get an idea of the event and the likely cost.

 

Every year Spectrum Striders hold an Awards Dinner Dance.  In recent years, the evening has been held just after Christmas, as a meal before would be much more expensive before Christmas and in the rush to get everything ready for Christmas Day adding a dinner dance in to crowded schedules is just unwanted extra stress for us all, so we believe after Christmas is best.

The evening starts with arrivals between 6.30pm and 7:00pm. The meal is served at 7:30pm (please remember we expect to have 100+ people so arrive with enough time to get a drink at a busy bar and find your table).  The meal is followed by a speech from the Chairman, presentation of Club Championship trophies, awards, and Club Standards certificates.  There is then a disco until 1am.

There is a second bar in the function room where we will eat, as well as in the lounge, so you can order a drink there and then mingle in the conservatory area, as the public bar is too small for over 100 of us.  The conservatory also provides another quieter area during the disco.

Cost & Payment Details

The 2010 Awards & Dinner Dance cost will be £20 per club member and your partner, and £22 if you wish to bring any additional non-Club guests.  This is superb value as the same meal is charged out at £39.00 per head before Christmas.

Starters:
Homemade Vegetable Soup, served with crusty roll and butter (V).
Trio of Melon, drizzled with a coconut and mint cream (V).
Prawn and Apple Waldorf, succulent prawns, pieces of apple and walnuts bound in a light mayonnaise.
Pate de Maison, served on Melba toast with salad garnish.
 
Mains:
Cheshire Roast Turkey Breast seasoned with sage and lemon, sliced, served with sage stuffing and pork chipolatas.
Tuna steak, dusted with blackened Cajun spices on a tomato and garlic sauce
Lamb Shank, slow cooked in a vegetable and Guinness stock served with thickened gravy.
Vegetable lasagne, homemade with the finest ingredients (V).
 
Puds:
Traditional Christmas pudding with Brandy Sauce.
Individual Chocolate Toffee Fudge Cake.
Fresh Fruit Salad.
Cheese & Biscuits.

Followed by:
Coffee/Tea with Mints or Mince Pies

NB: The Club will subsidise a bottle of red and white wine, and sparkling water on every dinner table.
