2012 race information

This race is the same day as the Liverpool Half Marathon, which is also in the Striders Club road race championship.

The course is mostly out-and-back on the St Annes promenade and coastal roads.   Les has uploaded a route map of his 2011 run to MapMyRun.

Race HQ:   St Annes Fire Station, St. Andrews Road North, Lytham St Annes, FY8 2JQ.

Parking:  On the roads near to the Fire Station.  There is no parking in the Fire Station or in the car park at the start/finish.

Entry fee:  £7 for club runners, race limit 400 entries.  Both on-line and postal entry are available.  If you enter on-line, collect your number on the day at Race HQ.  The race normally reaches its race limit before the day.

Start/finish:  In the North Beach car park on the sea front, about 0.6 miles from the Fire Station.  Remember: there is no parking in this car park as it is part of the course.

Collect your goody bag before the race at Race HQ on production of your race number.

Conditions were good for quick times: mild with some light drizzle and hardly any wind.  The race was cheap to enter and there was an excellent goody bag!

• Both Caroline Hemming and Anne Hewitt set their second club record in a week!
• Alan Peers broke Eric Pendleton's record of 1:24:12 set at Rivacre on 12-Apr-1999.
• Caroline Jones' time was only 4 seconds outside her V35 club record set in 2009.

This race also incorporated several other championships:

• Caroline Jones is now the 2011 Fire Service 10 mile ladies champion.
• Caroline Hemming is the 2011 Northern Vets AC FV40 champion.
• Alan Peers is the 2011 Northern Vets AC MV70 champion.
