Every so often, usually in the first couple of months in the year, we arrange running related talks or seminars. We have been doing this for a number of years now, beginning with an optional run followed by the talk and including a buffet. The format of the talk depends upon each individual speaker.
Details of any forthcoming talks and seminars and reviews of some of the more recent will appear on this page.

Bud
Baldaro

With training for the Flora London Marathon now well under way for a significant number of the audience, this was a timely talk from Bud Baldaro, one of the top UK Athletics national endurance coaches, who is also a college lecturer and a regular contributor for Runner's World. He was assisted by Adidas sponsored athlete Nick Jones who is running the London Marathon 2002 to obtain a Commonwealth Games qualifying time. Nick has already represented GB at the last three World Half Marathon Championships, and is married to club member Caroline who is expecting their first child later this year.
This was one of our best attended and successful talks with people coming from running clubs across the north west. Thanks are due to Julian who organised the event.

Richard
Nerurkar
Early in 2001 was the highly successful and very well received
talk about training for marathons by international British
marathon runner Richard Nerurkar. Richard is pictured after his
talk with his book "Marathon Running - From Beginner to
Elite". Also pictured above is club Chairman Julian Spencer.
