Track Gold for young Jordan Jones

(son of Caroline & Nick Jones)

Looks like Jordan has inherited his Dad's running genes!  (ed: and his mums!)  He won his 1st ever track race on Sunday 15th August.

He did the 600m race (Under 9's) at the Warrington Athletic Club Open Track Meeting, held at Victoria Park.  His time was 2:09 mins and he finished a good 30m ahead of the 2nd place runner.

Jordan's PB in the Birchwood Fun Run

Jordan also took part in the Birchwood fun run (before the Birchwood 10k) on Sunday 22nd August.  He said that he really enjoyed the race and he was pleased to have knocked 8 seconds off his PB for the course (set last year!).  Jordan finished the 2km fun run in 9.36 and finished in 9th position.

I started running in Feb 2009 as I didn't want to be 40 and fat.  I did the City Of Manchester 10k in July 2009 as my first race in a time of 42:12.  Since then I have run a few more races including 10k's and the 2009 English Half Marathon in Warrington (1:28:35) - I am looking to do this race again this year.

In April 2010 I joined Spectrum Striders which has improved both my physical running abilities but also how to prepare and plan for races.

I entered the City Of Manchester 10k again this year on 4th July and managed to shave 5 mins off my time, finishing with a PB of 37:12 and came 30th out of 2500 runners.
