Please note that these runs are not organised by Spectrum Striders RC.

These runs are (mostly) organised by Julian Spencer (a member of Spectrum Striders) and other work colleagues & friends.  All of the entry money is donated to a charity and some people also raise sponsorship to increase their donation.  Everyone involved in the race organisation donates their effort for free - race organisers, people who take entries, marshals.  There is often a small gift to finishers (e.g. cereal bar, fruit), donated by a local company.

The races are run during midweek lunchtimes, usually on Friday, at 12:30pm.  The course is always the same 5k course as for the well-established Forest Park Ladies-only 5k race held every July.  The races are often substantial events as you can see from the numbers of finishers.
