Please note that these runs are not organised by Spectrum Striders RC.

The runs are organised by Julian Spencer (a member of Spectrum Striders) and other work colleagues & friends.  All of the entry money is donated to a charity and some people also raise sponsorship to increase their donation.

The total amount raised after 33 runs is over £22000, all of which was donated to the various charities.

Everyone involved in the race organisation donates their effort for free - race organisers, people who take entries, marshals.  There is often a small gift to finishers (e.g. cereal bar, fruit), donated by a local company.

The runs are during midweek lunchtimes, usually on Friday, at 12:30pm.  The runs are often substantial events as you can see from the numbers of finishers.

The course is always the same 5k course as for the well-established Forest Park Ladies-only 5k race held every July.  To see details of the route, click on the small map to the lower left of this page.
