Fun Run - Fri 20th July 2001

The 5K Fun Run was the 2nd arranged this year as a charity fundraising event for local companies in Birchwood. The inaugural event took place in March for Red Nose Day. The nominated charity for this event was the NSPCC and £350 was raised for the charity. The event was not organised by the Spectrum Striders, although some club members were involved, both in the organisation and in the run.

The route was the same as the Forest Park Ladies 5K Race, alongside Birchwood Brook, past the station and on to Birchwood Boulevard, along the path to Oakwood Gate, over the bridge and back into the Forest Park. There were 63 finishers.

The names in the results were supplied to us with surname first, but with both names in the same field. For our own events we would normally publish the results with the first name first, the natural way for names to be expressed. We apologise for not being able to convert the names here.
