Julian reports:- Superb conditions for the race, clear skies and sunny with dry underfoot for 99% of the course. Steve Burthen had a long tussle with Paul Frodsham from West Cheshire who finished in 3rd in the end after winning the "A" race last year. Whilst on the B course Andy and Julian battled it out although for a little while in the middle of the race we helped each other along and tried not to compete....

Julian reports:- Another great team event. The National Fell relays was enjoyed by all who attended. Where will we be going next year? Surprisingly it only took 90 minutes to drive down from Warrington to Church Stretton in Shropshire, just south of Shrewsbury, especially if you went via the Wrexham bypass. A great venue with some very steep but safe grassy hills which gave some good running in places. The navigation leg according to Colin Grime was particularly difficult as the terrain made it very difficult to follow the exact bearings as required by the map. For us running the other legs the routes were well marked so the chance of getting lost were for once minimal.  It was a good opportunity to meet friends from Helsby RC, Altrincham DAC and Ambleside AC who were also there competing.
