Julian says…

This was a tough course, witness the fact that Liam's time was nearly 2 minutes slower than he ran at Preston a few weeks ago.

Castle Park XC - Cheshire XC series
Tues 28th December 2004.

Report from Julian…

Conditions were surprisingly benign for this cross county race.  In previous years we have experienced snow, ice, & strong winds or all 3. This year also was much less muddy than I expected.  The hill, however is as steep as ever.  Karon and Claire both wanted an extra lap as 2.5 laps gave them such a short race they were only running for 15 to 17 minutes. We beat our local rivals Warrington AC in both men's and ladies races although I accept that they did have a poor turnout.

Women's race 4K

Winner : Laura Bestow (West C) 14:10

3rd Claire Davies 14:44 (NB 2 guest runners in front of Claire)

8th Alison Hartopp 15:05 (in 1st claim Macc Harriers vest)

25th Karon Forster 17:14

69 runners plus 3 guest runners

Senior women’s team : winner Vale Royal 52pts

Spectrum 169pts, 12th team out of 8 complete teams & 15 teams in total

Warrington AC 218 pts, 14th team

Veterans women’s team : winner Macclesfield Harriers 33pts

Spectrum 133pts, 11th team out of 4 complete teams & 13 teams in total
