Northern Road Relay, Blackpool

Stage 1: Liam Thompson Did not Start
Stage 2: Matt Rimmington 19.45

Team disqualified for incomplete team. However, we got the stage's right looking at times.

his is possibly a first for Spectrum. Liam was on the toilet as the first Stage runners set off! He left the stands after the five minute warning and we assumed he'd gone directly to the start but he'd called into the toilet on the way and remained there until after the start!

I then had to go and discuss with the officials about what we could do - they wanted us to scratch completely but in the end we compromised on allowing us to compete with Matt going off after 20 minutes meaning we were well down the field.

The course was different from North West counties and much better - only 1 lap, although shorter at 3.2 miles hence the times. Tony McCarthy
